The Green Bay Businessmen's Association, established in 1882, is the forerunner of today's Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Please consider the following when making your investment decision:
Mission Statement – The purpose of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is to lead economic and community development.
Economic Development – The Advance Business Development Center moved to a new 45,000 sq.ft. home on the NWTC campus in the fall 2005. The business incubator, which hatched more than 100 businesses, created 600+ jobs, and added tens of millions of dollars to the local tax base, at the old location, provides a high technology environment for another generation of fledgling entrepreneurs.
Business Counseling – Consultants from the BAC, University of Wisconsin Extension, Urban Hope and the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) provide expert advice in sales, marketing and business start-up at no cost to members and prospective members.
Legislative Advocacy – The Public Policy Council and the Good Government Council act as your liaison and advocate on both State and Federal legislative and regulatory issues. Contact us for a copy of our 2005-2007 Legislative Agenda/Position Paper.
International Trade/Foreign Trade Zone – Our International Program Manager provides counseling on import and export issues to manufacturers and businesses throughout the area. Learn about the Brown County Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and how it may apply to your operations.
Education – All school districts in Brown County participate in the Partners In Education (PIE) program. Established in 1992, PIE provides leadership and resources through dozens of working committees focusing on youth development, leadership, career guidance and citizenship. The Golden Apple Award, which recognizes outstanding educators in our public and private schools, has become a national showpiece.
Leadership Green Bay – Participants of Leadership Green Bay (LGB) come in contact with many middle to upper management business in the local business community. Participants learn a great deal about the community they live in and meet the leaders in areas of government, education, environment, history, human services, and diversity. Small group projects benefit the community. Leadership Green Bay is a powerful assembly of individuals that make things happen in the Green Bay area and a terrific opportunity for young professionals to meet others with the same goals. Enriching our community, LGB has had 600 graduates since 1985.
Advertising/Public Relations There are numerous opportunities to promote your business, nonprofit organization or trade association through Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce publications. This includes the BBJ magazine, Friday Report newsletter, Member2Member e-newsletter, Chamber Web site banners, annual Business Expo, Green Bay Area/Brown County Street Map, Member Resource Directory and many special event sponsorships.
Deals – Members are eligible for a variety of discounts for products and services. This ranges from discounts on communication systems (cellular, long distance, Internet) to saving on corrective laser eye surgery for your employees and family members.
Networking- Join us at our monthly Power Networking Breakfast which is designed to introduce you and your business to other members of the business community. Many other opportunities are available through participation as a member of one of our many committees or attendance at special events like our popular Business After Hours and Business Expo. The Young Professionals Network (YPN) provides additional networking opportunities.
Recognition/Awards – The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a number of recognition programs for manufacturers, small business and personal achievement. This includes the Manufacturers of Distinction Award, Small Business of the Year Award, Small Business Person of the Year Award, Cornerstone Award, Growth Award, Special Accomplishment Award Excellence in Business Award, Youth Entrepreneur Awards and the ATHENA and Daniel Whitney Awards which are presented at our Volunteer Recognition and Annual Meeting every fall.
