Green Bay, Wis.- (Aug. 22, 2008) - A site that gives employers the opportunity to link their business information and employment opportunities to students from kindergarten through college for free? That is exactly what WC-Connection – an area within WISCareers – does! WC-Connection is a Web-based tool designed to help businesses and schools connect, and helping companies get on the student radar early on.
Through WC-Connection, employers enter a company profile and are able to sign up for various volunteer opportunities. Students are then able to look up the company information and view positions that the company hires for frequently and infrequently, what education and skill levels are required and what educational institutions offer the required programs. With two- thirds of Wisconsin schools subscribing to WISCareers, including eight out of 10 Brown County school districts, WC-Connection is a powerful retention tool for area businesses.
The site can not only link students to business, but connect your business to area students. Through the volunteer opportunities on the site, employers and employees are able to sign up for various activities with students. From mentoring and guest speaking to business site tours and internships, businesses have many opportunities to reach out to local students. As a link for students to businesses and businesses to students, WC-Connection helps build the strength of Wisconsin’s workforce.
