Drug Alliance Puts New Twist on Prom Fashion Show With Mr. Titletown Competition

With the new year in full swing, it’s time for many high school students to begin scoping out the latest prom fashions in anticipation for the big event. This year, the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Drug Alliance Prom Fashion Show on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 with a few twists – including a Mr. Titletown Competition.

The Mr. Titletown Competition will include contestants from five area high schools – Green Bay West, West De Pere, Seymour, Denmark and Notre Dame Academy. Students will be judged in three categories: formalwear, talent and question and answer.

Student participants include Erik Cole, Denmark High School; Patrick Schmidt, Green Bay West High School; Bobby Elliott, Notre Dame Academy; Kale Dudley, Seymour High School; and an as-of-yet-unnamed representative for West De Pere High School as their contestant will be determined at their event on Jan. 23.

The event will be held at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, located at 2040 Airport Dr., with the show running from 3 to 5 p.m. Doors open at 2 p.m.

The Prom Fashion Show is a fund-raiser for the Partners in Education Drug Alliance, helping to fund alcohol-free post-prom parties at area high schools. Tickets for the fashion show are $5 each and are available at all DuBois Formalwear locations, Elaine’s Wedding & Event Center, the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and at the door.

In addition, the tickets can be used for a 20 percent discount at Elaine’s the week following the show. The event will include several raffle drawings as well, including drawings for gift certificates to DuBois, Elaine’s, Art Essence Photography, Mary Kay and many others.
