Green Bay, Wis. (June 3, 2008) – The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2008 ATHENA Award.

Since 1985, the Chamber has recognized women and men who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to their profession, to the advancement of women and to serving their community. The award not only recognizes the accomplishments of professional women and men, but celebrates the wisdom, strength and enlightenment which are inherent in its recipient.

The three criteria required of an ATHENA Award recipient are: demonstration of excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession; provision of valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community; and; to actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential.

Last year’s recipient was Eileen Littig, director emeritus of Northeast Wisconsin In-School Telecommunications (NEWIST/CESA 7). She will be among the other past recipients of the ATHENA Award on this year’s panel of judges.

Nomination forms can be found on the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Web site www.titletown.org. Nominations must be received by July 31, 2008. This year’s recipient will be honored at the Chamber’s annual meeting in October.

The Chamber is pleased to announce that Schenck Business Solutions is again sponsoring this year’s ATHENA Award.

Questions should be referred to Lori Kaye Lodes, marketing & communications manager, Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, at (920) 593-3423 or llodes@titletown.org.
