Green Bay, Wis. (October 28, 2005) The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and Lakeshore Technical College announces today a Manufacturing Job Fair, scheduled for November 16, 2005, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Center for Business & Industry.

Despite recent industry reports, manufacturing remains a strong and vital component of Northeast Wisconsin. Manufacturing offers positions with high pay and great career opportunities. This event will bring the abundant number of current manufacturing openings to job seekers and those looking to "grow" their careers.

Only manufacturing companies with current, available manufacturing positions and can take applications during the event should attend. The event is free and open to the public. The Technical Colleges and Workforce Development Boards will be on hand to assist in developing and providing the necessary training programs to get future employees the technical skills needed to compete in today's competitive environment. Workforce Development Boards will aggressively promote this event to their caseload of recently displaced workers--a caseload that includes 1500 skilled workers with solid work histories.

Any manufacturer interested in exhibiting at this event should call Laurie Radke, workplace learning services director, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, 920/498-6995 or email Laurie.Radke@NWTC.edu, or Peter Thillman, dean workforce and economic development, Lakeshore Technical College, 920-693-1119, peth@gotoltc.edu. There is a $25 space/registration fee for businesses.
