Green Bay, Wis. (July 31, 2007) Nominations are now being accepted for the eighth annual Manufacturing Awards of Distinction. The program is presented by Advance, the economic development division of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, and is open to manufacturers in seven northeast Wisconsin counties: Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Oconto and Shawano.

Award categories are based on company size, length of time in business, use of high technology and exporting. Companies may apply for more than one award category with a single nomination.

"The process is very streamlined to make it easier for more manufacturers to participate," says Lori Ritter, coordinator of the program for Advance. "We don’t expect financial statements or volumes of information that take countless hours of staff time to compile; that’s not the goal here," Ritter adds. "This is about recognizing manufacturers in this region that are doing great things."

An additional award for Friends of Manufacturing is presented to a firm or individual that goes above and beyond to strengthen the region’s manufacturing sector through exemplary service and/or action.

Nomination materials are available at www.titletown.org or by calling (920) 496-2110. Completed submissions are due no later than Sept. 21, 2007. An awards banquet to announce the winners will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay.

Sponsors of the 2007 event are The Business News, Nsight Telservices, Heartland Business Bank, Skyline Exhibit Resource, Virchow Krause & Co. and Spot Productions.
