Green Bay, Wis.¬- (Feb. 6, 2009)- If you’re doing business internationally, don’t miss the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) and Free Trade Agreements seminar to learn about opportunities to lower costs and increase sales.
The Northeast Wisconsin International Business Development Program is hosting the seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. The event will be held at the Bridgewood Conference Center in Neenah and will feature vital information for companies on opportunities to lower costs and increase sales.
The GSP, which began in 1976, enables American companies to keep costs down by importing goods from designated areas. The Free Trade Agreements are in effect with various countries and reduce, or even eliminate, custom duties on imports from the U.S.
Paula Hubbard, licensed customs broker of Western Overseas Corporation, will present information on GSP, including qualified country and product information, as well as how to claim GSP treatment. The Free Trade Agreements portion will highlight countries with special U.S. tariff treatment and include information on eligibility requirements and rules, duty phase out and documentary requirements.
The cost per person is $25 and includes a plated breakfast, which will be served from 7:30 to 8 a.m. prior to the presentation. Registration is required.
