Green Bay, Wis.- (Oct. 16, 2007)— The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce will welcome Finnish Ambassador to the United States, Pekka Lintu, at Lambeau Field on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Ambassador Lintu is visiting the Green Bay area to celebrate a dedication at Finnish-owned Ahlstrom Corporation, followed by the opportunity to meet numerous business leaders, local and elected officials in Green Bay.
“This is an opportunity for us to showcase Northeast Wisconsin,” said Barb Fleisner, vice president of Advance for the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, one of the individuals hosting Ambassador Lintu on Wednesday afternoon. “We will be able to talk about international business – both investment and exports – in one of the greater Green Bay area’s most popular venues.”

12:10 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, Lambeau Field Atrium: Ambassador Lintu will be joined by Fleisner; Brown County Executive Tom Hinz; Rep. Karl Van Roy, state representative; Charlie Schrock, Ted Penn and and Gary Delveaux of Wisconsin Public Service, Fred Monique, international development program manager for the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce; Jerry Menne from the village of Ashwaubenon; Chairman Gerald Danforth of the Oneida Nation; Kathy Hughes, vice chairwoman of the Oneida Nation; Dr. Meir Russ of UWGB and others local officials, elected officers, Chamber representatives and members of the business community. They will proceed to Club 1919 for a discussion of trade opportunities between Finland and Northeast Wisconsin. Ambassador Lintu will then tour Lambeau Field from approximately 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. He will then travel to Oneida Nation attractions including the organic farm, buffalo ranch, and environmental projects.
