FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Green Bay, Wis.- (Oct. 12, 2007)—Partners in Education of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Start Smart of Brown County and the Green Bay Press-Gazette are proud to announce the 8th annual Families in Good Company award honorees: Pension Inc. and the Greater Green Bay YMCA.

The Families in Good Company award honors Greater Green Bay Area employers who are committed to their employees and have implemented family-friendly policies to assist in balancing the responsibilities of work and family life. Companies selected exemplify work philosophies that assist employees in balancing their responsibilities to work and family.

Pension Inc., a service company with fewer than 50 employees, uses creative solutions to help associates to balance work and family. Bedrooms inside the Victorian office building have been converted into a nursing area and a comfortable sleeping environment for children so that new parents have the option to bring children to work. In addition, the scheduling of Pension Inc. is flexible so that employees can attend other commitments such as T-ball games or assist elderly parents with medical issues and appointments. Over the years, the staff at Pension Inc. has participated in long-term service with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Altrusa, PALS and religious youth education.

The vision at the Greater Green Bay YMCA is to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. The YMCA is a non-profit organization that offers a variety of unique benefits and opportunities to its 100 plus employees. These options encourage healthy lifestyles and positive values and include membership and program discounts. In addition to encouraging families to spend quality time together within its facilities, the YMCA holds several events for employees and their families each year outside the YMCA. In a recent staff survey, 82 percent of respondents stated they or their families use the YMCA membership or programs.

Partners in Education, Start Smart of Brown County and the Green Bay Press-Gazette will honor Pension Inc. and the Greater Green Bay YMCA on Nov. 1 at the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legends of Commerce annual meeting. This year, the awards ceremony will be held at KI Center/Regency Suites and will include an elegant dinner and featured speaker Dick Morris, American political consultant.
