FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Green Bay, Wis.- (Sept. 19, 2007)- The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 21st Annual EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS Award recipients. Each year, Advance – the economic development arm of the Chamber – recognizes both a corporate business and a non-profit organization that have excelled in efforts and achievements over their two most recent fiscal years. This year, Nsight & Cellcom was chosen as the for-profit recipient and Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, Inc., was honored as the non-profit recipient.
Nsight & Cellcom was chosen because of its great business success and heavy involvement in the community. Not only has Nsight & Cellcom increased its revenue by 28 percent, but is also an active member of the New North, the Wisconsin Family Business Forum and the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Nsight & Cellcom also exhibits innovative practices such as proactively calling customers who exceed their wireless plan limits and on some occasions, provide financial assistance for those who need it. “Among many things, Nsight & Cellcom stood out from the other nominations because of its stellar customer service rating in a very competitive and demanding market and its tremendous community involvement through sponsorships and contributions, “ said Bill Newhouse, chairman of the Advance selection committee.
Three years ago, Advance created a separate category to recognize non-profit organizations. Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, Inc. is this year’s recipient for its accomplishments in protecting, healing and caring for children, families and individuals in the greater Green Bay area. Among its many social programs, Family Services tapped more than 200 volunteers in safely reuniting 208 runaways with their families and providing 10,795 hours of service to 308 families, helping them care for and protect their children. “Although there were five or six top nominations, Family Services seemed to impact the most families in the Green Bay area with the resources they had available to them,” added Newhouse.
Both EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS award recipients will be presented with their award at the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and volunteer recognition program on Thursday, Nov.1.
