The life of John Adams to be discussed at Read to Lead

Green Bay, Wis. (Feb. 24, 2009) –David McCullough’s biography “John Adams” will be the focus of Current’s Read to Lead event on Monday, March 2, 2009. Presented by Damian LaCroix, superintendent of the Howard-Suamico School District, the event will be held at The Daily Buzz, 130 E. Walnut St., Green Bay, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

In this biography, McCullough discusses the man who, although he was not fond of politics, became the second president of the United States. McCullough details Adams’ role in the American Revolution and also examines the troubled friendship between Adams and Jefferson.

LaCroix will discuss the key points of the reading and speak about his own experiences. It is not required that you have read the book beforehand, just that you have an interest in the topic.

The next Read to Lead series will be held Monday, April 6, 2009. Donsia Strong Hill, partner at Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. will present “A Whole New Mind: Why Right Brainers Will Rule the Future” by Daniel H. Pink.

Read to Lead was launched to encourage young professionals to pursue professional development through reading. The program offers participants a chance to network and to reflect on leadership, best practices, and other special topics pertinent to a variety of industries. The program is also intended to provide an opportunity for young professionals to interact with area leaders who have significant work experience and are generally more advanced in their careers.

All Read to Lead events are free and open to the public, and RSVP’S are appreciated but not required. For more information about the event or how to become a member of Current, contact Brian Johnson at (920) 593-3408 or bjohnson@titletown.org.
