Green Bay, Wis. (July 17, 2007) – Professionals of all ages make the Green Bay business community vibrant and progressive. To herald younger professionals and their contributions, Current, greater Green Bay’s young professionals network, is excited to introduce its annual Young Professional Awards.
Current, a program of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, exists to promote the attraction and retention of individuals age 21-40 through social networking and professional development activities. The four awards will be presented to individuals who have contributed to Current’s mission in different ways.
"We want to recognize outstanding achievements by individuals and companies that have demonstrated a strong commitment to their communities and the attraction and retention of young talent to the Greater Green Bay Area," said Brian Johnson, Current program manager.
The awards include: Young Professional of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Esprit de Corps and Next Generation Best Place to Work.
The Young Professional of the Year award and the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award will be presented to individuals in the Greater Green Bay Area. The Young Professional of the Year award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated commitment to Brown County through civic and business involvement. The Young Entrepreneur of the Year award focuses on positive community impact and demonstrated business success of an individual. Qualifications for both awards require membership in Current on or before the nomination deadline. Nominees for these awards must be between the ages of 21-40.
The Esprit de Corps award is presented to an individual or organization that embodies the values of Current and selflessly promotes the young professional program. He/she embraces the value of attracting and retaining young talent and support Current in its mission to integrate young professionals both personally and professionally.
Lastly, the Next Generation Best Place to Work award, is presented to a business with a demonstrated commitment to the development of young professionals, adapts work-life friendly policies, values generational differences and institutes attraction and retention initiatives for young talent.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Current Web site at www.greenbaycurrent.com and must be returned to the Chamber no later than Friday, Aug. 31,2007. Self-nominations are encouraged. Members of Current’s Recruitment & Retention Committee will review all nominations. The awards will be presented at Current’s Annual Lunch Assembly on Sept. 18, 2007 at Regency Suites.
