Recognize a young professional –
Nominate for Current’s Annual Young Professional Awards

Green Bay, Wis. (May 28, 2008) – To recognize young professionals in the Green Bay area, Current, Green Bay’s young professional’s network, will award area individuals and businesses for their contributions to Current’s mission with its annual Young Professional Awards.

The awards include: Young Professional of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Esprit de Corps and Next Generation Best Place to Work. Award nominations are open to the public.

Individuals will be recognized with the Young Professional of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The Young Professional of the Year award recognizes an individual who has displayed an unwavering responsibility to the community through involvement with local organizations that promote the attraction, retention and integration of young professionals to the Greater Green Bay Area. Last year’s recipient was Joel Hansen of Schenck Business Solutions.

The Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award is presented to a local business owner who exemplifies and holds true a commitment to Brown County through demonstrated business accomplishments and positive community impact. Troy Streckenbach, owner of Jimmy Seas, Marco’s Seafood Club and Stirrups was the previous recipient of this award.

The Next Generation Best Place to Work Award is presented to a business that demonstrates a commitment to the development of young professionals, adapts work-life friendly policies, values generational differences and institutes attraction and retention initiatives for young talent. Schenck Business Solutions was recognized as last year’s recipient.

The Esprit de Corps Award will recognize either an individual or organization that has contributed significantly to Current’s mission. He/she/it embraces the value of attracting and retaining young talent and supports Current in its mission to integrate young professionals both personally and professionally. Dan Terrien of Woodward Radio Group was the recipient of last year’s award. The recipient of this year’s award will be designated by Current’s recruitment & retention committee and nominations are not being solicited.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Current Web site at www.greenbaycurrent.com and must be returned to the Chamber no later than Friday, Aug. 1, 2008. Self-nominations are encouraged. An independent panel of judges will review all nominations. The awards will be presented at Current’s Annual Luncheon on Sept. 23, 2008, at Hotel Sierra.
