Green Bay, Wis. (Nov. 26, 2007) – The Northeast Wisconsin International Business Development program of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is presenting a C-TPAT Program seminar on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn in Fond du Lac.
Now's the time to learn how to implement the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Program. This joint initiative between government and business is intended to strengthen the supply chain and border security. New legislation is in place for 100 percent cargo scanning. Under the new terms of this law, signed into effect by President Bush in September, all containers entering the U.S. are to be scanned by "non-intrusive imaging and radiation detection at a foreign port" before being loaded on a vessel.
"For all businesses, reducing the time and cost of getting cargo released by U.S. Customs is the most important benefit of implementing a C-TPAT program,” said Fred Monique, manager, international development program for the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. “Further, this represents a great opportunity to reduce potential disruptions to the overall supply chain."
The seminar will address what is C-TPAT, understanding C-TPAT certification, how to pass validation and the future direction of C-TPAT.
To register for the $25 seminar, visit www.titletown.org and click on the C-TPAT icon or contact Fred Monique at (920) 496-2118.
