Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce To
Welcome George Will At Oct. 20 Annual Meeting

Green Bay, Wis. (Sept. 24, 2008) The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased host George Will, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and Newsweek essayist, as the keynote speaker at its annual meeting on Monday, Oct. 20, at the KI Convention Center. Will is one of the most widely recognized and read writers in the world, and is virtually unmatched for his informed commentary on the current American political scene.

Will’s newspaper column has been syndicated by the Washington Post since 1974. Today, it appears twice weekly in just fewer than 500 newspapers in the United States and in Europe. In 1976, he became a regular contributing editor of Newsweek magazine, for which he provides a bimonthly back-page essay.

This year’s Chamber annual meeting theme is Movin’ On Up, a nod to the Chamber’s anticipated November move to its new office at the corner of Broadway and Dousman. The theme is also a reference to our continued and focused efforts to elevate our member businesses through a variety of benefits.

The celebratory evening will begin with socializing at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a short awards ceremony and then Will’s speech. Award recipients include:
• Excellence in Business Award (Procter & Gamble)
• ATHENA Award (Barbara Nick of Wisconsin Public Service)
• Daniel Whitney Award (Carol Van Vreede of Exhibit Resource by Skyline)
• Outgoing Chamber Board Chairman Denis Hogan
• Families in Good Company Award recipients (to be announced)

Tickets are still available for purchase; $90 for individual tickets and $850 for a table of 10. Please call the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce at (920) 593-3422 or (920) 593-3419 or visit www.titletown.org to register for the event by Oct. 15.
