The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is the proud recipient of three American Chamber of Commerce Executive (ACCE) 2004 Awards for Communications Excellence (ACE).
· The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Newcomer’s Guide was honored with a Grand Award in the Guide/Special Publication category. The ACE Grand Award raises the standards and sets a pace for communications excellence. Only one entry from each of the five categories is awarded this honor. Imaginasium Inc. designed the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Newcomer’s Guide, with graphic design and programming support from Seismic Interactive.
· The BBJ (Bay Business Journal), the chamber’s member publication, was honored with an Excellence Award in the magazine category. The entries receiving an ACE Award for Excellence surpass the fundamental standards and criteria for communications excellence. The BBJ magazine is designed and produced in-house by the chamber’s communications department, including Eric Schadrie, graphics designer, and Vikki Perkins, editor.
· The Business Networking Series was honored with an ACE Honorable Mention Award in the direct mail piece/brochure category. Entries receiving the ACE Honorable Mention Award meet the fundamental standards and criteria for communications excellence. The Business Networking Series, including the Business After Hours, Business and Breakfast and Lunch ‘n’ Learn brochures, was designed in-house by the chamber’s communications department, including Eric Schadrie, graphics designer, and Vikki Perkins, communications manager.
The Awards for Communications Excellence is an annual competition that recognizes excellence in all areas of communications. ACE continues to be the vehicle for the chamber community to promote effective chamber communications, as well as highlight initiatives, introduce events, and inform members.
“The ACE Awards are tangible reminder of the high caliber of communications programs created by Chambers all across the country,” said Michelle Noe, chair of the ACE Awards Committee and director of marketing and communications at the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. “Regardless of a chamber’s size or resources, a professional execution based on a strategic foundation delivers solid results and provides a valuable example and benchmark for fellow communicators throughout the country.”
“ACCE is proud to honor, reward and celebrate the achievements of outstanding communications programs, campaigns and projects in the chamber industry,” added ACCE President Mike Fleming.
This year’s competition drew 250 entries from more than 125 chambers throughout the country. Forty judges spent more than 300 hours judging and providing comprehensive feedback for each participant. Judges backgrounds included experience in the fields of public relations, printing and design, special events planning, fundraising, journalism, economic development, web design and public policy.
Award recipients will have the opportunity to receive their award at the 2005 ACCE Annual Convention—“The Chamber Meeting of Choice,” August 11-13 in St. Louis, Miss.
