Green Bay, Wis. (May 25, 2005) After four years as the second largest local business, Schneider National Inc. (3101 Packerland Drive) claims its slot as the No. 1 largest employer in the Green Bay area. Between 1994 and 1997, Schneider was in either the No. 5 or No. 6 position, and managed a steady rise in the ranks over the years. Schneider National Inc. moved to No. 4 in 1999 and jumped to No. 2 in 2001, where it has remained until 2005.

One of the nation’s largest truckload carrier organizations, Schneider National Inc. is proud of its Green Bay roots. ”Green Bay is a wonderful community with traditional family values, and we’re proud to call it home for the past 70 years,” says Tim Fliss, executive vice president of human resources. “The rich talent pool that exists here and that is drawn to Green Bay has enabled us to assemble the best and brightest transportation and logistics professionals in the world.”
Information for the 30 Largest Employers listing is compiled by Advance, the economic development arm of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Cindy Gokey, economic development coordinator, verifies the information semi-annually by contacting human resources personnel at the largest area companies.
