Awards and Nominations


The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and its programs provide many opportunities for business and community leader recognition.

Athena Award: Presented during the chamber's Annual Meeting, the Athena Award is given to somone who has attained and personified the highest level of professional excellence in her or his business or profession, has devoted time and energy to the community in a meaningful way, and most importantly, has opened doors of leadership opportunity for women. Nominations are due July of each year.


Excellence in Business
: Given each fall during the chamber's Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Event, the Excellence in Business Award recognizes the many ways in which local business has enhanced the Green Bay area. 

Families in Good Company: Partners in Education, the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Start Smart, and the Green Bay Press-Gazette are proud to co-sponsor the 5th Annual Families in Good Company Award. Given to an company that has made a commitment to family-friendly policies, and an investment in our children, this Award is presented at the chamber's annual meeting each fall. 

Manufacturing Awards of Distinction
: This event honors companies who have achieved excellence in manufacturing. Advance, the economic development arm of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, coordinates the program throughout seven Northeast Wisconsin counties, and hosts an awards banquet each November. Nominations open in early summer for November awards.

Small Business Awards: Presented each June during Small Business Week, the Small Business Awards recognizes several area business, both members and prospective members, in several different categories, including Entrepreneurial Award, Special Accomplishment Award, Cornerstone Award, Growth Award, and Small Business Person of the Year Award. Nominations are due in spring each year.

Youth Entrepreneur Grants: Following an application process and presentation of a business plan, several area middle and high school students are presented with Youth Entrepreneur Grants to support  summer business ventures. Students are selected and awarded mini-grant dollars based on business plans developed with the assistance of mentors from the Chamber's Small Business Council and SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives). Golden Apple Nomination Forms: Honor a local educator by nominating them for a Golden Apple Award, presented by Partners in Education, a program of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
